Went with Pam and five of her teen girls to Willowgrove amusement park today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.! The girls wanted to be on their own, so Pam and I spent the day in each other's company. Willowgrove is just outside of Philly.

Pam’s one of the first people I met when I joined Teen Haven last June. She has this beautiful golden hair and intense blue eyes. She picked me up at the airport. Pam’s Presbyterian and hails from Illinois. She graduated from from Huntington College. She’s this bubbly, motherly, responsible little person. She works at Susquehanna Avenue with Doug, does the shopping, and cooking and makes the center an attractive place to live and to come to. She takes particular joy in working with little children. She gets out into the neighborhood and visits all their parents.

We talked about the ministry, rode on the round up, and I got my first ride on a big roller coaster, finally! Then Pam got sick, so we quit the rides. We saw a western gun fight, a saloon show, a dolphin show, and a spook house.

Edie, a former summer staffer, arrived today and will be staying at Broad Street this summer.
