Treasured moments

Tuesday night Teen Haven was a bustle of activity. Jack Kelso was here to do a short part of his TV program on the Teen Haven ministry at 20th Street. After taking pictures of kids playing pool and ping pong downstairs, the crew shot John's and Doug's Tuesday night Bible studies. After that they focused on Barb working in her office. Curious, we all hung over banisters and around doors, sat on stairs and hugged against walls to keep out of the way of camera men running up and down the hall. I was standing in the doorway of Ronnie's room. He came up behind me, slipped his arms around my shoulders, snuggled up and said in a low, sexy voice, "C'mon, Mr. Camera Man, show me and Jeanne doing our scene."

I immediately shrugged him off, and said, "Ronnie!"

He just laughed. Bad kid. After a moment, he started half-hanging, half leaning on my shoulder. We watched the proceedings, and the quiet, taut Jack Kelso giving short commands. Then all of a sudden I felt Ronnie shift weight behind me, nestle his chin on my shoulder, and press his cheek against my neck. He whispered so low that even I could barely hear him, "I love you, Jeanne."

I think that's the first time he ever said that to me.
